What is EAC?
Russia and Kazakhstan are members of The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) group of countries, established in 2015 with the aim of creating a shared economic space and single customs union between Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Armenia.
Among the EAEU’s protocols are a common standard of product certification and compliance called Eurasian Conformity (EAC) Certification – formerly known as GOST. Eurasian Conformity (EAC) certification demonstrates that imported products meet the EAEU’s regulations and standards for customs clearance and trading.
As in most developed countries, EAC certification demonstrates that products comply with safety standards and are fit for purpose. The EAC mark cannot be placed on a product until certificates have been issued, usually following compliance checks, and in some cases, even factory visits.
