There is no quick fix, and sales will rarely be achieved overnight (though I have seen it happen). Russia is a place where relationships need to be built. This will take time and patience, but once cemented, you should enjoy a long and prosperous relationship.
If you have a quality product and the backing of your Board to pursue sales in Russia, your sales cycle will be shorter. There are things, such as bureaucracy and the need for product certification, which may potentially trip companies up, but these can be overcome by being methodical, and using help from those that have done it many times before.
