I never planned on a career in Russia!
Born in the summer of ‘69 in Glasgow where my father ran the Glasgow Herald newspaper. He was asked to set up the London office back in the mid-70’s, so we packed up the Renault 4 and drove to London! After a brief stint working on regional press, I decided to move to San Diego in California. A summer of Camp America, followed by travelling around the west coast before settling in Orange County.
Returning to the UK in my early 20’s, I began work in an Advertising Agency. Initially I was a Secretary, then PA, then I trained as an Account Executive before reaching the peak of my career working in Soho as an Account Director on TV, print and press ads for airline and automotive brands.
After 20+ years, I took a sabbatical, then met David Cant in a pub on London Bridge, who talked me in to a complete career change. I joined Albion in 2009 initially to assist with Marketing and to liaise with Clients, attend meetings and take briefs for Projects in Russia. Eleven years later, I am now Director of EAC Certification and Compliance (and can make a mean Shuba!).
Travelling to South America and the Far East to enjoy new cultures are my passion. During Covid, I became involved with a charity in Glasgow who support the homeless and those with mental health issues. I am trying to keep up my involvement as much as possible post lockdown. I love cooking, eating out, theatre, 80’s music (only the good stuff like Simple Minds!) and more recently I qualified as a sailor! I’m also a weirdo cat lady and have two fur babies who I love more than chocolate.
If only I hadn’t walked in to the pub that night, it could have been a very different career!
